The Canonical Scripture: Act 1.30

Whenever coming from Wellspring-Town (Jeongeup) County, Sangje always took the most direct route possible regardless of whether the route took Him through mud fields or rice fields. Seeing this, one of His neighbors named 'Ryu Yeon-Hoe' asked Him, 'Why are You walking through areas without paths?" Then Sangje just left saying, "I am busy working." Several years after this exchange of words, Yeon-Hoe, who became a land surveyor, took measurements for a new road to be constructed; it turned out to be the path Sangje had randomly walked across. Now the road that leads to Wellspring-Town from the Virtue Stream (Deokcheon) intersection is actually that very same road.

상제께서 정읍으로부터 진펄이나 논이나 가리지 않고 질러오셨도다. 이것을 보고 류 연회(柳然會)란 동리 사람이 “길을 버려두고 그렇게 오시나이까”라고 말하니 상제께서 “나는 일을 하느라고 바쁘건만” 하시며 그대로 가시니라. 이 일로부터 수년이 지난 후에 그가 측량기사가 되어 신작로를 측정하게 되었는데 그 측량이 바로 상제께서 함부로 걸어가신 선이 되니라. 지금 덕천(德川) 사거리에서 정읍을 잇는 신작로가 바로 그 길이로다.
