The Canonical Scripture: Act 1.13

When Sangje was a student at the village school, He immediately understood what He had been taught by the master and, as such, always ranked first. There is an amusing anecdote about Him: one day, the teacher intended to promote the second-ranked pupil to first place, feeling sorry for that pupil's parents. To do this, he gave his class a test; however, Sangje received the highest score once again. Sangje had discovered the teacher's plot ahead of time and altered His style of writing and lettering so His teacher would be unable to distinguish between Himself and the second-ranked pupil.

상제께서 글방에 다니실 때 훈장으로부터 들으신 것은 그 자리에서 깨우치시고 언제나 장원하셨도다. 하루는 이런 일이 있었도다. 훈장이 서동(書童)들의 부모에 미안함을 느껴 속으로 다음 서동에게 장원을 주려고 시험을 뵈었으나 역시 상제께서 장원하셨던바 이것은 상제께서 훈장의 속셈을 꿰뚫고 그로 하여금 문체와 글자를 분별치 못하게 하신 까닭이라고 하도다.
