The Canonical Scripture: Act 2.13

One day, Venerable Geum-Gok politely sat beside Sangje and requested, "Please tell me something about myself." Sangje said to him, "You were Veneralbe Wolgwang (Moonlight) in your previous life, have now come to Great Court Temple (Daewon-sa) in this life. Your duty is to remodel this temple. I will extend your lifespan so that you shall pass away sometime after your 90th year."

그 후 어느 날 금곡이 상제를 정중하게 시좌하더니 상제께 저의 일을 말씀하여 주시기를 청원하였도다. 상제께서 가라사대 “그대는 전생이 월광대사(月光大師)인바 그 후신으로서 대원사에 오게 되었느니라. 그대가 할 일은 이 절을 중수하는 것이고 내가 그대의 수명을 연장시켜 주리니 九十세가 넘어서 입적하리라” 하시니라.
